It's with a heavy heart to say that Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) has lost one of its own from the prepatory department. PAMM employee Raymond Brown was assisting a mural artist at a building in Hallandale Beach when a tragic accident occurred.
"Our PAMMily is heartbroken to hear of the passing of Raymond Brown. Ray was a beloved core member of our art handling prep team. He was a talented artist and musician with a great attitude. Hardworking and dependable, Ray began working with PAMM in 2013 to help open our building. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time," said PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans.
Ray positively touched the lives of everyone who knew him, including his museum colleagues.
“Raymond was instrumental in working alongside our exhibitions program since the museum opened and has been a great friend to all who knew him. Ray was an artist himself as he shared with his passion for music, he was a sweetheart and will be missed dearly," said PAMM Chief Preparator Jay Ore.
