Blog: PAMM Celebrated Inside|Out in Historic Overtown

On April 28, 2017, PAMM celebrated Inside|Out in Historic Overtown with tours of the works installed throughout the community, live music, food and art-making.

During the celebration, participants created their own work of art inspired by Ed Clark's Pink Wave. Art Africa Miami also led its Black Canvas Party and celebrated the opening of the Art Africa Pop-Up Gallery. PAMM resident DJ Phaxas set the evening’s soundtrack with grooving jams all night long.

Led by teaching artist Alex Zastera, residents toured the Inside|Out works installed throughout Overtown while learning about the museum’s collection and how Inside|Out incorporates the community and its history into conversations around art. Tour guests were in for a special treat when community members David Brown and Neil Hall gave historical Overtown facts at different tour stops.
