Nerd Nite is an event that has been in over 100 cities across the globe during which several folks give 15-minute fun-yet-informative presentations across all disciplines – while the audience drinks along. This edition of Nerd Nite at PAMM began with Ta-Shana Taylor, lecturer at UM’s Department of Geological Sciences presenting "Florida's Deadliest Hurricane (It's Not Andrew)," where she discussed the damage of the Hurricane of 1928. Following was Danni Washington, host of educational TV program “Xploration Nature Knows Best,” with a presentation on brilliant inventions that were inspired by nature. The night concluded with a presentation from board-certified criminal defense attorney Sara Yousuf, who spoke on the on “the insane and irrational rules of Florida's penal system.” The evening’s festivities were accompanied by music courtesy of PUMPS DJ Crew, who played a set on the terrace.
