Guests joined at PAMM for another edition of PAMM Third Thursday: Poplife Social, this time featuring a live performance by Ordinary Boys.
On Saturday, March 17, 2018, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) welcomed more than 900 cultural philanthropists, artists, civic leaders, and arts supporters to its fourth annual PAMM Art of the Party presented by Valentino, the museum’s largest fundraiser event of the year. The event, which honored one of today’s leading contemporary artists Teresita Fernández and philanthropist Patricia M. Papper, raised more than $1.3 million. All funds will directly support the museum’s robust arts education program, the largest program of its kind outside the Miami-Dade County school system.
Guests joined us for the kickoff of the first annual Tout-Monde Festival presented by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in partnership with France Florida Foundation for the Arts. The festival opened with "The World of Edouard Glissant: Relevance and Meaning in Politics and Art," an art talk by Patrick Chamoiseau and Dr. Michael Dash, followed by Heteronomonde, a performance by Léna Blou & Schwarz-Bart. That evening, guests enjoyed a DJ set by Brother Dan (Terrestrial Funk) on the terrace.The night also saw another installment in the ongoing series "Type In with EXILE Books," this time with artist Mitch Kaplan.
On Thursday, February 15, 2018, Valentino hosted a private shopping event to kick-off Pérez Art Museum Miami’s 2018, Art of the Party gala. Valentino opened the doors of its Bal Harbour location for an exclusive night of luxe fashion and art. Guests included Craig Robbins, Ellen Salpeter, gala host committee members Arlene Chaplin, Alexa Woleman and more. A percentage of proceeds from both Valentino Miami Design District and Valentino Bal Harbour locations will be donated to Pérez Art Museum Miami.
On February 10, 2018, in honor of Black History Month, guests joined us for art-making inspired by artist, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. Using scratch paper, participants were able to carve their own layered portrait by combining memory and color. Winds of Heritage Dance Company also stopped by and and presented “Colors”, choreographed by Eulyce Eason, co-artistic director for WOH. The day also saw another installment of “Miami Stories,” a partnership between PAMM, HistoryMiami and WLRN.
