On Thursday, December 4, 2014, artist Beatriz Milhazes welcomed visitors to Pérez Art Museum Miami for a book signing of her 200 page, full-color catalog Beatriz Milhazes: Jardim Botânico, which documents the first U.S. retrospective of the Brazilian artist’s work.

PAMM Contemporaries kicked off Miami Art Week/Art Basel Miami Beach with an exclusive cocktail party, featuring Buckminster Fuller’s "Fly’s Eye Dome," previously shown at Design Miami/, as the centerpiece. Guests enjoyed specialty drinks by Johnnie Walker, Beso del Sol Sangria, Desperados and La Fenice as they grooved to electronic tunes by DJ Legs Benedict. Members also received coveted Art Fair Survival Kits filled with event invitations, fabulous swag and passes to the can't-miss art fairs in time for Miami Art Week. The PAMM Contemporaries Art Fair Survival Party was presented by Art Miami. Additional support was provided by Johnnie Walker and car2go.
Members of Pérez Art Museum Miami’s Core Creative gathered on a crisp, breezy evening for a cocktail soiree celebrating the release of the exhibition catalog for Adler Guerrier: Formulating a Plot, currently on view at the museum through January 25, 2015. Guerrier was on hand to sign copies of the hot off the press publication and guests were abuzz about plans for the upcoming Miami Art Week/Art Basel Miami Beach festivities. The evening was presented by PAMM with support provided by David Castillo Gallery.
Pérez Art Museum Miami will premier a new music video, Vernáculo, by DJ collective Future Brown at the museum's signature Art Basel Miami Beach event on Thursday, December 4. The video, commissioned by PAMM for the event, is from Future Brown's debut album on Warp Records slated for release this winter. It will be projected on the museum’s façade and screened in the auditorium on December 4, and the full video will be available via pamm.org in mid December. Directed by Rory Mulhere, the video features Maluca, who is also performing at the PAMM event. Appropriating the advertising language of global beauty brands like L’Oreal and Revlon, Vernáculo is an exercise in capitalist surrealism. Stills from the video are below.
