This lecture by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev explored the question of the art exhibition as an embodied and "dis-tracted" archive(dis / trahere = to pull or to draw in another direction), and it focused on how objects function in relation to the experience of witnessing -- the artist's witnessing of the world, the viewer's witnessing of the artwork, and even the art object's witnessing of the spectacle within which it is caught and entrapped.
