Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev gives Tenth Annual Parodi Lecture in Philosophy of Art

This lecture by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev explored the question of the art exhibition as an embodied and "dis-tracted" archive(dis / trahere = to pull or to draw in another direction), and it focused on how objects function in relation to the experience of witnessing -- the artist's witnessing of the world, the viewer's witnessing of the artwork, and even the art object's witnessing of the spectacle within which it is caught and entrapped.

Total Freedom brings adventurous sounds to PAMM's third Thursday music series

Every third Thursday evening, PAMM brings together an eclectic range of internationally-acclaimed DJs and musicians for an outdoor music series on the terrace by the bay. This past month, PAMM Presented Los Angeles-based producer and artist Total Freedom, whose adventurous, often confrontational but always playful sounds drew listeners into a whirlwind of ever-evolving texture and sensation.
