On January 11, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz: A Universe of Fragile Mirrors—an exhibition that originated at PAMM—opened at El Museo Del Barrio in New York. At El Museo, viewers will see the same selection of works presented at PAMM but in a different context, alongside with a new exhibition curated by the artist Beatriz Santiago Muñoz. A glyph, a tool, an icon: Beatriz Santiago Muñoz selects from El Museo’s Collection includes a series of works from the museum’s collection in relationship to A Universe of Fragile Mirrors. Together, both exhibitions continue with the curatorial project that started in Miami, while providing New York’s museum audiences an opportunity to discover artist’s practice in connection to the collecting history of El Museo.
With National YoungArts Week upon us, we are proud to applaud two members of our PAMM Teen Arts Council (PTAC) who are being recognized for their exceptional talent. Ezekiel Binns is a finalist in the Design Art category and Chloe Friend received an honorable mention in Visual Arts.
Join us January 13 and 14 at the Art Deco Weekend Kids' Club area in Miami Beach for some free art-making, giveaways and more. The Kids' Club is the place for family friendly fun at Art Deco Weekend. The stage will feature music, dance, theater, storytime and more for kids of all ages. Activities are ongoing between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Join our friends at YoungArts for the opening of their visual arts, design and photography exhibition on January 13 at 7:30pm, as part of National YoungArts Week. The exhibition, curated by PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans, features selected works from some of the nation's most accomplished 15–18 year old visual artists, photographers, designers and writers. National YoungArts week runs January 8–January 15.
