To mark the opening of his new exhibition at PAMM, Matthew Ronay presented a talk on five individuals who have influenced his artistic practice. The presentation discussed a range of interdisciplinary ideas such as wavelengths, biology, maps and mysticism.
More than 800 cultural philanthropists, artists, civic leaders and arts supporters attended PAMM’s third Annual PAMM Art of the Party gala on Friday, March 4, 2016. The event, which had its highest attendance to date, raised more than $1 million for the museum’s robust education program, the largest outside the Miami-Dade County school system.
On February 6, PAMM Curator René Morales introduced Toronto-based composer, artist and scholar, Mitchell Akiyama to discuss the subject of animals and language in relation to Bik Van der Pol's Speechless, previously on view at PAMM. Akiyama's text in "Land & Animal & Nonanimal" served as an important point of reference in the development of the exhibition.

Pérez Art Museum Miami’s Third Annual Reception for the PAMM Fund for African American Art had its most successful year to date, with attendance doubling to more than 800 guests. The annual event, sponsored for the third consecutive year by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, was the first for PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans, who took the helm at PAMM this past October.
