On Thursday, February 16, were taken back in time at PAMM’s Third Thursdays: Poplife Social ‘80s Party. Guests came out in their best ‘80s gear to celebrate artist David Reed’s new exhibition, inspired by the color and drama of the TV classic, Miami Vice.
Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) welcomed more than 150 museum directors and art leaders from across North America to an exclusive dinner for The Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD), which is in convening in Miami for its mid-winter meeting. With South Florida’s exciting and evolving art scene, it is an honor that Miami was chosen as a host city and that PAMM was chosen as one of the host museums.
On February 2, 2017 guests came out to Pérez Art Museum Miami for the Best of Nerd Nite at PAMM. The day was jam packed, as guests came out to enjoy PAMM’s new Happy hour, a DJ set by Phaxas on the terrace, and free admission to the museum as part of PAMM’s Free First Thursday. At Nerd Nite, guests heard fun-yet-informative presentations on graphic novels by David Shiffmansharks, sharks by Adam Schachner and sex underwater by Gary Bremen.
The International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium, February 3–5, is a FREE biennial event in Boynton Beach, FL. Art and technology collide to create kinetic art, which is fine art powered by solar, wind, light, sound, robotics, water, gravity and other elements. This one-of-a-kind visual art event includes more than 75 kinetic artworks, interactive installations, community projects, meet-and-greets with kinetic artists and a lecture series.
