About the artist
Telekinetic Walrus is an eclectic enforcement of funky, psychedelic hip-hop, and theatre, which immerses the listener in an exciting world of heavy electronic bass and space travel. Unabashedly wild and intent on amping up the crowd, this Miami-based crew has taken stages by storm and kept parties popping since 2009. The group delivers a mesmerizing performance wrought with the finest beats, eloquently articulated lyrics, and enough low end to turn up an extraterrestrial dance party. Throw in some cosmic costumery, as well as some theatrical interludes and you can instantly feel their vibe in whatever city they land their spaceship. Telekinetic Walrus is comprised of a group of five foretold intergalactic superheroes: Y Diz - Ableton Live Certified Trainer/Producer; The Time-Zoo Keeper - Vocals/MC; Corinne Stevie - Vocals/MC; Faun 5000 - Saxophone/Flute/Keys; Komakozie - Beatbox/MC. Telekinetic Walrus has toured the nation furiously over the past two and a half years, all while consistently releasing new music, upping the ante with their theatrical performances, and attracting bigger and bigger crowds everywhere they go.
This past summer the team of independent, elite warrior-explorers embarked on their second U.S. National tour, celebrating the release of their single, That’s Wassup. The single received wide critical acclaim, most notably by Revive Music of Questlove’s music blog Okayplayer. Since their return, the band has been focusing on new music and videos, and will be gracing the stages at quite a few festivals throughout the country this year. Telekinetic Walrus has shared bills with a diverse range of international acts, such as The Chemical Brothers, Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, Robert Plant, Future, Hall & Oates, Moby, Flying Lotus, Thievery Corporation, Snarky Puppy, and visionary artist, Alex Grey. The group has played at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, Ultra Music Festival, numerous occasions at all three GrassRoots Festivals of Music and Dance (NY, FL, NC), Stilldream, and III Points Music Festival to name a few. Telekinetic Walrus focuses daily on spreading their music and positive vibes to a worldwide audience, while consistently producing live performances that unify people through active peace.
