Calendar: PAMM Inside|Out Spring Closing Celebration and Opa-Locka Art Night

Event Description

Join us for the spring close of Inside|Out 2017 in conjunction with Opa-Locka Art Night and in celebration of the city’s 91st Anniversary. Enjoy tours of the high-quality reproductions installed throughout the community, participate in postcard art-making and partake in various Opa-Locka Art Night festivities.

The can't-miss celebration includes live music by DJ Phaxas, light bites, giveaways and art tours (beginning at 6:45pm and 7:45pm).

Phaxas Bio
Emerging from her involvement as a sound engineer and shortly thereafter as a performer for an nationally touring live electronic act, Phaxas has carved out a unique space as a solo electronic artist and DJ. With influences from post-techno, idm and bass music, she expresses and creates a fresh breed of melodic yet rhythmically-driven electronica. Phaxas' music is a fusion of the range of those influences combined with strains of house and syncopated rhythms along with warm sounds and deep basses. Her skillset as an audio engineer, producer, and live performer make for a sonically palpable "get-down" vibe.  Her notable gigs include: III Points festival, Artopia, Afrobeta's Mooncake fest, Klanbox's Klangbang, Lemon City Day School, Gramps, and several gallery spaces.  She co-hosts a weekly internet radio show called Mashene along with fellow dj Heather Holiday,  which focuses on women in electronics.

PAMM Inside|Out is on view through September 2017 in the Miami-Dade County communities of Biscayne Park, Opa-Locka and Overtown in the spring and Little Haiti, North Miami Beach and Surfside in the summer. For full schedule of events, visit pamm.org/insideout.
