Moko Jumbie tells the tale of Asha, a young girl who returns to her family's home on a rural coconut plantation in Trinidad. Despite racial taboos, her aunt's admonitions, political turmoil and mysterious hauntings from ancestral spirits, Asha embarks on a forbidden relationship with Roger, a young fisherman who shares her desire to look beyond the physical world.
After the premiere, don't miss the party on the terrace with Electric Punanny. The crew's eclectic and diverse mixes fuse dancehall, reggae, soca and house for a perspiration-inducing session. MeLo's recent Grammy nomination for his production work on Beyoncé's album Lemonade has also set the stage for original music from the duo such as their new single "Tiger's Eye" featuring Afro-house/UK funky singer Donae'O.
