Join artist Teresita Fernández, PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans, PAMM Associate Curator María Elena Ortiz, and Seattle Art Museum Director Amada Cruz for a special conversation centered on themes present throughout Teresita Fernández: Elemental. Immediately following the panel Fernández will sign copies of the exhibition catalogue.

Elemental presents an unparalleled opportunity to experience over 50 works by one of the nation’s leading contemporary artists. This exhibition will introduce visitors to the artist’s expansive conceptual approach to landscape. Through large-scale sculptures, experiential installations, and mixed media works, Fernández brings to light relationships between elemental materials, nature, history, and the cultural, socio-political references tied to the perception of place.

Teresita Fernández: Elemental is co-organized by Pérez Art Museum Miami and Phoenix Art Museum. This exhibition is presented by Citi with generous support from the Ford Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation, and John Hardy Jewelry. Additional support from Funding Arts Network and JW Marriott Marquis Miami is gratefully acknowledged. Lead individual support from Camille and Patrick McDowell together with support from Patricia and William Kleh, and Anthony and Celeste Meier is also gratefully acknowledged. Valuable support for the exhibition catalogue was provided by Lehmann Maupin, New York and Hong Kong.
