As part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays, create mixed media paintings that explore ideas of place, climate, and landscape inspired by Leslie Martinez’s Twisting Roots Summon The Thorns.

Martinez focuses on generational knowledge and relationships to the land, and their large-scale paintings have radiant, organic surfaces that flow through shapes and gestures. Explore compositions of abstracted landscapes to create your own mixed-media artwork that speaks to identity, climate, terrain, and body. 

For the rest of the day, you can explore the galleries, grab a meal at Verde, or sit back and enjoy the breeze on the waterfront terrace.

As part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays, museum admission is free all day. Art-making kits are available while supplies last.
