Join us for an Art Talk with curator Eungie Joo to celebrate the release of PAMM’s newest exhibition catalogue, Iman Issa: Heritage Studies. Joo will discuss her practice and recent projects, including Sharjah Biennial 12: The past, the present, the possible (2015), which featured the first commission of Iman Issa’s Heritage Studies, currently on view at PAMM. In addition to this exhibition, Joo worked closely with Issa for her participation in the 2012 New Museum Triennial: The Ungovernables (2012).

Most recently, Eungie Joo curated Sharjah Biennial 12 (March – June 2015). She previously served as director of art and cultural programs at Instituto Inhotim, Brumadinho, Brazil, and prior to that as Keith Haring director and curator of education and public programs at the New Museum, New York, where she spearheaded the Museum as Hub program; commissioned the yearlong seminar Night School by Anton Vidokle; edited the volume Rethinking Contemporary Art and Multicultural Education (2009); published the Art Spaces Directory (2012); and curated the 2012 New Museum Triennial. Joo presented Condensation: Haegue Yang at the Korean Pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennale and was founding Director and Curator of the Gallery at REDCAT, Los Angeles. She received her doctorate from the Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of California at Berkeley.
