At the heart of this experience is multidisciplinary artist Rosa Naday Garmendia and poet Oscar Fuentes, also known as The Biscayne Poet. These two artists share a profound love for words and a deep commitment to working with community.

Rooted in Naday Garmendia’s socially engaged printmaking practice and Fuentes’ spontaneous poetry, this artful activation invites the you to co-create, reflect, and engage through words and images. Together, we’ll explore memory, identity, and collective expression in a space shaped by care, creativity, and connection.
About Oscar Fuentes
Oscar Fuentes, known as the Biscayne Poet, is a Miami-based multidisciplinary artist, curator, and author of 10 poetry and prose collections. Born in Manhattan to Honduran immigrant parents, his work explores themes of family, memory, and legacy. His typewriter poetry was recently featured on Bravo’s the Real Housewives of Miami, and he serves as poet-in-residence at 1 Hotel South Beach. He is currently working on Poetry City, a new poetry collection inspired by Miami. In 2023, he received the inaugural Miami-Dade Mayoral Poetry Commendation.
About Rosa Naday Garmendia
Rosa Naday Garmendia is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice blends contemporary art and activism, exploring themes of identity, assimilation, cultural preservation, and social justice. Drawing from personal experience, she addresses pressing issues like racism, power structures, and human rights, emphasizing the transformative role of art in driving change. She has exhibited work widely across the U.S., Caribbean, and internationally—including the Havana Biennials—and has participated in numerous residencies and cultural exchanges. Her work has been recognized with major grants such as the Ellies Creator Award and the South Florida Cultural Consortium.
