WHAT: In a show of support for families impacted by the government shutdown, beginning Friday, January 11, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is offering free admission to guests with a valid federal employee ID as well as select part-time employment opportunities to help them bridge the gap as the shutdown continues.

Federal government workers and one guest will be granted free admission to PAMM by showing a valid federal employee I.D. as proof of employment.

“Today, we stand at another pivot point in America,” said Franklin Sirmans, Director, Pérez Art Museum Miami. “As we continue into the third week of a partial government shutdown, we empathize with our affected friends, neighbors, and colleagues across the United States. We are eager to play a role and proud to offer a hand where we can. While our gesture will not solve the issues or placate the hardships of the current government shutdown, we hope to alleviate the economics of visiting the museum by offering free admission to all furloughed federal workers, in addition to offering select part-time positions throughout the remainder of the shutdown.”

Eligible museum guests will have the chance to experience PAMM's current exhibitions, including The Gift of Art, which celebrates PAMM’s 35th anniversary embodying the museum's belief in preserving and sharing art with both current audiences and future generations.

Furloughed federal employees passionate about art are invited to apply to join the PAMM team part-time. All interested furloughed federal employees should send their resumes to resumes@pamm.org.
