PAMM Opening Celebration for the Third Chapter of On the Horizon

On January 18, 2018, guests came out to PAMM in celebration of the third, and final, chapter of On the Horizon: Contemporary Cuban Art from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection. Visitors explored the exhibition and joined in on art-making on the terrace, while members in the lounge enjoyed drinks courtesy of Absolut Elyx and Kim Crawford. Inside the auditorium, guests enjoyed an art talk by exhibition artists Carlos Garaicoa and Glexis Novoa, who discussed their work and its relation to the chapter’s theme of Domestic Anxieties. The evening culminated with a live performance by Cortadito, a traditional Cuban Son group that focuses on music of early Cuban origins, with salsa dancing underneath the stars.

PAMM Free Second Saturdays: Navigating Histories

On January 13, 2018, guests came out for a day of family fun at PAMM Free Second Saturdays: Navigating Histories. The day’s art-making activity was inspired by the exhibition, For Those in Peril on the Sea by Hew Locke. Out on the terrace, guests were able to trace their lineage by creating a three-dimensional map of their family's past using a variety of art materials. In the auditorium, guests gathered to hear a lively performance courtesy of Florida Grand Opera.

PAMM Free Community Night: Tech Takeover

Guests came out for a tech-filled evening showcasing the best of Miami's emerging tech start-ups at PAMM Free Community Night: Tech Takeover. The night featured presentations on the different ways technology is transforming our community—including Felice Grodin: Invasive Species, our first-ever augmented reality (AR) exhibition made possible by the Knight Foundation. The evening was emceed by Maria Derchi Russo, Executive Director of ​ Refresh Miami. The interactive tech showcase featured some of Miami’s biggest tech players including Code/Art Miami, Daruma Tech, Branger_Briz, Breeze Creative, Kairos, Ironhack, and 01.

National YoungArts Week

This January, the most promising artists in the country will perform and exhibit in Miami at New World Center and the YoungArts campus. National YoungArts Week is an incredible experience and with public presentations in visual arts, dance, film, voice, jazz, theater, classical music, design, photography, and writers’ readings, there’s something for everyone.
