Overtown Afterschool at PAMM - Gallery and Studio Program
Overtown students from Jose de Diego Middle School/Overtown Youth Center and Touching Miami with Love (TML) worked with PAMM teaching artists over the course of the school year to create artwork inspired by the museum's exhibitions. This studio-based museum program connects students with art and artists through sessions at PAMM and off-site field trips to youth exhibitions. Partnerships with Miami's local youth organizations in Overtown provide students with the opportunity to engage in project-based learning while supporting the development of confidence in their own artist expression.
Brick x Brick - Outreach Program
This year's theme of communication produced a range of projects by students from Girl Power (Culmer Community Center and Brownsville Middle school locations), Edison Senior High School, Miami Beach Senior High School, and Miami Bridge. Students worked with PAMM teaching artists to create individual and collaborative works from a variety of mediums, including messages embedded in a hanging text installation, symbolic clay pieces, transparency imagery/collage, and video.
