From Africa to Spain, join us for a special pop-up concert organized by New World Symphony Bassoon Fellow Francisco Joubert Bernard and discover Puerto Rico's most popular folkloric music styles, their origins, and race connotations. Emphasis will be placed on how race and social status shaped these genres, and myths on the origins of salsa and reguetón rhythm will be debunked.
