About the Artist
Born in New Jersey in 1964, Allen received a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute. In 1993, he established Harry Allen Design, and since then, he has designed furniture, lighting, products and interiors for a wide variety of international clients. Allen’s work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art and the Brooklyn, Denver and Philadelphia Museums of Art. His awards include the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s Modernism/Young Designer Award and two Industrial Design Society of America IDEA Awards. Allen’s interest in art and innovation has led to some of the most intelligent products and interiors in the world today.
