October 14, 2023
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Past Event

Part of the PAMM Free Second Saturdays, explore how “art meets science” in partnership with the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science). Enjoy an afternoon of artistic creation and activities inspired by the annual event solar eclipse plus a special activation by Goya Foods.

Participate in the “Space, Sculpture, and Silhouette” art-making activity and create your own eclipse viewer. Inspired by the sculptural lens of Mexican artist Carlos Amorales’ Dark Mirror, play with the beauty of light and shadows. Explore, reflect, and investigate compositions of light and dark contrast within solar phenomena and sculptural artwork.

For the rest of the day, you can stop by the Goya Foods activation for a tasty sampling, explore the galleries, grab a meal at Verde, or sit back and enjoy the breeze on the waterfront terrace.

Art-making kits are available while supplies last. Art activities are from 11am–3pm.

PAMM Free Second Saturdays are made possible by funding from PNC Arts Alive, Publix Super Market Charities, The Edward C. Fogg, III and Lisbeth A. Fogg Charitable Trust, and by endowed funds granted by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Heckscher Foundation for Children to underwrite the museum’s broad portfolio of education programs. Together with leadership support from Miami-Dade County, these funders enable the museum to transform the lives of young people in our community through our art education programs.
