Celebrate National Poetry Month with “Poetry in Motion,” an immersive waterfront workshop led by interdisciplinary artist KT. Inspired by the Japanese avant-garde dance form Butoh and the museum’s Shadows and Traces exhibition, explore the visceral connection between short-form poetry and somatic and ancestral movement practices.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to expand your creative horizons and deepen your understanding of the body’s innate capacity for poetic expression. By cultivating an experience of intuitive, embodied storytelling, attendees will forge personal and participatory connections to the exhibit’s focus on hands, bodies, and silhouettes.
This free, all-levels session invites you to move beyond traditional structures to uncover the body’s innate capacity for storytelling through intuitive expression.
Also, enjoy guided gallery tours, art-making activities with local artists, happy hour specials, new exhibitions, and permanent collection galleries until 9pm.
