M. Thérèse (“Terry”) Vento – General Counsel, Senior Director of Legal and Government Affairs

M. Thérèse (“Terry”) Vento joined the museum as its first in-house general counsel in 2015, after decades of providing pro bono legal advice to the museum as a partner in a large Miami law firm. She served in leadership positions on the Center for the Fine Arts/Miami Art Museum/PAMM Board of Trustees for 27 years. In her role as general counsel, Vento provides guidance on, among other things, board and staff governance, legal compliance, risk management, best practices, contracts, art and monetary donations, HR, and intellectual property. She regularly participates on local and national panels on art and museum law issues, was named Top In-House Counsel 2017 by the Dade County Bar Association, and was honored by the Miami Daily Business Review with its Professional Excellence Award 2020 for Solo In-House Counsel. As deputy director for government affairs, she oversees and participates in the museum’s relationships with governments and funding sources, keeping them informed of PAMM’s accomplishments and needs.
