Nicola Salino is a Peruvian-born, Miami-based painter whose work draws inspiration from South Florida’s wildlife. A graduate of New World School of the Arts High School, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Florida International University. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of local species, Salino creates detailed, nature-focused paintings of birds, plants, fish, and insects.

His practice is rooted in a lifelong passion for observing and documenting the natural world. From a young age, he spent his free time exploring the forests around his hometown and diving in the sea, observing, photographing, and collecting animal specimens. Initially, drawing and painting served as ways to document his encounters with nature, eventually evolving into the artistic practice he pursues today.
