Join Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and Flip It & Reverse It for convening centered around creativity and community featuring artists, curators, Indigenous knowledge bearers, spiritual leaders, and cultural organizers from four continents who come together with the local Miami community to share strategies for creative change-making, and forging connections.
Flip It & Reverse It explores how spirit can re-envision how art world structures, methodologies, and resources can be re-imagined and will feature a series of conversations, lectures, and presentations on subjects from socially engaged art to the Haitian Revolution’s legacy in contemporary art making. Through the sharing of tactics, strategies for building community, and protecting nature, we’ll come together to create a roadmap for creating change and healing the planet.

About the Convening
Flip It and Reverse It is a global art initiative, curatorial collective, and research platform that centers global Indigeneities and intersectional environmentalisms. Rooted in the vision of the late Dr. Yesenia Selier, this project brings together women who are simultaneously curators and/or artists as well as Indigenous spiritual leaders, to reimagine the role of art as a tool for flipping and reversing limiting beliefs to re-create reality collectively.
Conceived over five years of collective dreaming, research, theorizing, and organizing, the project launched at the 40th annual Bienal de Cuenca in Ecuador (2025) and expands through convenings, exhibitions, and publications across the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Each iteration builds upon private ceremonies among curator-priestesses, who then translate spiritual guidance into public talks, exhibitions, programming, publishing, and cultural infrastructure, advancing new models for curatorial practice.
Through these initiatives, Flip It and Reverse It challenges dominant narratives of art history, institutions, and knowledge production while lifting up Indigenous epistemologies for leadership. Its goal is to foster advanced connectedness—where art, land, body, mind, and community converge for the best and highest good of people and the planet.
